About this Event
The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission invites the Hispanic community to connect with their Ohio Senators and State Representatives during our Hispanic Legislative Visit Day! This is an opportunity to meet and connect with your legislators to discuss issues important to you that impact our Latino/Hispanic communities.
Please complete your registration and opt to set up a meeting with your legislators.
Throughout the day you will also have the option to attend panels and workshop sessions as outlined on the agenda below. There will also be a student track for high school and college students.

9:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Education Panel
10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Workshop Breakout Session 1
- Student Track: Advocacy 101
- General Public Track: From the Perspective of a Legislator- How to Establish Meaningful Relationships in Government
- General Public Track: Workforce Development and Building Generational Wealth for Latinos
11:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Workshop Breakout Session 2
- Student Track: Representation Matters: Aspiring Latino Office Holders
- General Public Track: Empowering Latino Business Leaders
- General Public Track: Justice and Civil Rights: Know Your Rights
Noon - 1:15 p.m. Networking Lunch
Keynote Speaker- Melinda S. Molina, Associate Professor of Law at Capital Law University
1:15 - 2:00 p.m. Latino Mental Health Network Panel
2:00 p.m. Closing Remarks
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Optional) Attend Senate & House Session, and/or attend House & Senate Committee meetings, and/or attend scheduled meetings with legislators.
*Please note: scheduled meetings with legislators will take place throughout the day. Participants will return to the Statehouse Atrium and join larger group between meetings. An updated agenda on location rooms will be sent out prior to the event.
