About this Event
Join us for a special Hispanic Heritage Month walking tour through Kansas City’s Historic Northeast, a vibrant neighborhood shaped by generations of immigrant families, Latino/a/e culture, and community resilience. Reclaimed as a narrative of strength and possibility, this Equity Walk will shine a light on the stories, businesses, murals, and landmarks that make the Northeast a hub of culture and connection.
Together, we’ll walk the streets that hold our history, from the small businesses that have sustained families for decades, to the new businesses and community spaces building on that legacy today. Along the way, community leaders will share stories of struggle, triumph, and the ongoing movement for equity, reminding us that the Northeast is not forgotten but alive, thriving, and essential to Kansas City’s future.
This walk is both a celebration and a call to action: to invest in our communities, honor our heritage, and continue building a city where all cultures are uplifted.
