La Ciudad de Elgin, junto con la Biblioteca Gail Borden y Friends of Masons presenta "Mes de la Herencia Hispana: Canta con Orgullo" el sábado 16 de septiembre en Festival Park.Mes de la Herencia Hispana: Canta con Orgullo, es un evento nuevo que contará con un desfile de autos, Grito tradicional, presentaciones de ballet folclórico, escultura interactiva de Frida Kahlo, alebrijes, juegos de lotería, música en vivo, comida y bebida, un encantador espectáculo de fuegos artificiales, ¡y mucho más!
Los camiones de comida estarán estacionados en la calle Grove junto al Festival Park a partir de las 3:00 p.m. La ceremonia, que incluirá El Grito y la Danza Mexicana, dará inicio a las 3:30 p.m. con la participación musical de Andrea Michel, José Díaz, Xitlali "La Chaparrita de Oro" y un cuarteto de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Elgin.
Las presentaciones de música en vivo subirán al escenario a las 5:30 p.m., comenzando con Somos Colombia, seguidos por Trabuco, luego Amor Prohibido: Selena Tribute Band y el evento concluirá con DJ Ayoo tocando junto a un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales aproximadamente a las 9:20 p.m. ¡Este evento es GRATIS! ????

We're excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Elgin on Saturday, September 16 at Festival Park, cosponsoring this incredible event with Gail Borden Library, and Friends of Masons.
Hispanic Heritage Month: Canta con Orgullo (Sing with Pride), is a new event that will feature a car parade, traditional Grito, ballet folklorico performances, interactive Frida Kahlo sculpture, alebrijes, loteria games, live music, themed food and drinks, an enchanting fireworks display, and much more!
Food trucks will be parked on Grove street adjacent to Festival Park starting at 3:00 p.m. The opening ceremony which include El Grito and Danza Mexicana will begin at 3:30 p.m. with musical participation from Andrea Michel, José Diaz, Xitlali "La Chaparrita de Oro", and a quartet from the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
Live music performances will hit the stage at 5:30 p.m. starting with Somos Colombia, followed by Trabuco, then Amor Prohibido: Selena Tribute Band and the event will conclude with Dj Ayoo playing along a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9:20 p.m. This event is FREE!
