Please join the Hispanic Genealogical Research Center as we welcome Historian, Micro-Biologist, and Educator Dr. Eppie Rael to the NHCC Campus. The topic of discussion will be The Spanish & Other Pueblo de Cochiti Vistors.
About the Speaker: Dr. Eppie D. Rael is a Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Albuquerque in 1965, an M.S. from New Mexico Highlands University in 1970, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Arizona in 1975. His Research focused in immunology, biochemistry, and toxinology—specifically focusing on snake venoms (such as the Mojave rattlesnake), venom metalloproteinases, and cytotoxic polypeptides. He served as Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and has been recognized as an influential Hispanic faculty member and mentor in STEM fields.
