About this Event
with Madhurranjan Mohaan
accompanied by Krishna Parathasarathy, Violin, and Rahul Zingde, Tabla
Join us for an evening of Hindustani Classical music!
Hindustani classical music, with its various ragas and melodies, can bring states of calm and relaxation, along with joyous intensity. The experience is likened by some to states attained during meditation.
The program features Madhyam pradhan Ragas.
Madhurranjan will present multiple ragas that don't have pancham and/or where madhyam is important.
He will be accompanied by Krishna Parathasarathy, Violin, and Rahul Zingde, Tabla.
The emotions that are experienced during a Hindustani concert are not easily matched by any other forms of music.
Presented ONLY at 2929 24th Street, not online!
This concert is open to all at no cost. We are supported by your generosity (dana). Donations are accepted and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
Madhurranjan Mohaan (vocals) is an engineer by morning and an aspiring musician after that. He tries to be a good human being most of the time though. Madhurranjan runs a non profit classical organization called Sangeethaamsha (https://www.sangeethaamsha.com/) to spread the magic of classical music and an Indian classical based fusion band Bayraagis (@BayRaagis) to again spread the magic of classical music. Madhurranjan was initiated into Hindustani classical music at the age of 6 by his uncle, late Flute master B.N Suresh ji. He trained for about 7 years before taking a break. He has continued to learn Hindustani music for the last 8 years under the tutelage of Mewati Gharana guru Smt Lalita Sharma, a renowned disciple of Pt Jasraj ji.
