Throughout this session, participants will learn the foundational concepts of Hindu spirituality, including the roles of deities, the symbolism of the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva), and the spiritual meaning of dharma, karma, and moksha. The focus will then turn to Shiva — the embodiment of divine stillness, creation through destruction, and the transcendence of illusion.
Attendees will gain insight into the mythology, sacred symbolism, and stories surrounding Shiva, as well as how his energy represents balance between chaos and peace, masculine and feminine, and the cycles of life and death. The class will explore how Shiva’s practices, including meditation, mantra, and movement, can be applied to modern spiritual life to cultivate inner transformation and awareness.
Practical exercises will include guided meditation inspired by Shiva’s ascetic tradition, chanting of simple mantras such as “Om Namah Shivaya,” and discussion of how to build a small personal altar or devotional space to honor this energy at home. Participants will also learn how to respectfully integrate Hindu principles into their existing spiritual practices while maintaining cultural awareness and authenticity.
This class is open to all levels of spiritual experience and is designed to bring both reverence and accessibility to one of the most ancient and enduring paths of self-realization. Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook or journal for reflection and note-taking.
