Hilarity Ensues is an immersive trip into artist Louis DeMarco’s sitcom universe. “Toaster’s” is an imaginary bar, built out of obsessive references to “Cheers” and “Friends” but transformed into something both highly personal and totally absurd. Populated by real people from DeMarco’s life, “Toaster’s” storylines include rakish doppelgangers, misbehaving sports mascots, and the occasional spontaneous combustion. This exhibition pulls together over a hundred original drawings, paintings, animated videos, and a very special live performance of the “Toaster’s” episode “Leave It To Beav Montauk.”
