Summit the North Peak of Montara Mountain and witness unforgettable views of the Pacific coast!Located in the San Pedro Valley near Pacifica, Montara Mountain provides a stimulating climb and incredible views from top to bottom. On this 7 mile hike, we’ll climb past Brooks Falls, a 175-foot sliver of a waterfall, to the 1,898 foot summit of the North Peak of Montara Mountain. Besides Brooks Falls, stunning lookouts along the trail provide glimpses of the Pacific, but the best is yet to come. Once we reach the saddle between the North and Middle Peaks, the views begin to open up. Only at the summit are we fully rewarded for the climb up. Unobstructed views of Montara Beach, Gray Whale Cove and Devil’s Slide appear directly below on the coastline, with equally impressive views of Pacifica, San Francisco and Marin to the north, the Crystal Springs watershed to the south, and San Francisco Bay to the east.
