We'll explore Eno River and walk across a suspension bridge! Bring food and drinks for brunch in the park after the hike!This hike 4.1 miles! Moderate to difficult level. It is natural terrain, lots of rocks, red clay mud, brush, inclines, uneven paths... we will see some pretty cool animals... woodpeckers, cardinals, squirrels, lizards, and a maybe a gecko? We will be crossing a bridge that moves. This hike is going to be hard if you’re not a hiker! If you’re not used to being in that type of environment please be careful!
We're gonna walk along a very peaceful stream and across a suspension bridge over water.
We will hike the whole loop, 4.1 miles with lots of stops along the way. We expect this hike will take 2 hours.
There’s a shelter at the beginning of the trailhead where we can eat together so bring food and drinks.
How to get to the trailhead: When you enter the park, you’re going to pass the large Eno River sign. Keep going straight. Don’t turn. You’re gonna drive for about a mile and you will be in the parking lot. The ranger suggested that we get there early cause if it’s a nice day, the park may be packed by 10. We’re getting there at 9:30.
Bring blankets, chairs just in case the shelter is being used. There’s lots of grassy areas. Lastly, bring bug spray, water, maybe a hat… a personal first aid kit... just in case!
Please feel free to invite friends. We want you all to get some much-needed adult time. Our events are designed to be a way for adults to relieve the stress of adulting, welcome newcomers to the area, and make new friends. We love the kids but please don't bring them to the hike.
