Workshop Objectives:
- Explain how/why child sex trafficking risks increase before and during high-profile events, including common myths and realities.
- Identify vulnerabilities, grooming factors, and behavioral/environmental indicators associated with child sex trafficking.
- Apply trauma-informed, victim-centered principles when identifying, interacting with, and reporting suspected cases.
- To recognize various signs and symptoms of potential abuse/trafficking and engage key partners who can assist in the further safety and health of a child.
- To formulate a plan of action when confronted with a case of suspect abuse/ neglect/ trafficking.
- To highlight a community’s (and state’s) strategic and collaborative plan for prevention, identification, and intervention.
Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for professionals who work with children and/or families in the field of child abuse. This includes professionals in child advocacy, children’s protective services, social work, counseling, mental health, education, medicine, law enforcement, legal professionals, and more.
