About this Event

High Tide is sitar fusion, improvisation, and play. The ensemble brings together musicians of all genres to share original compositions inspired by the ragas of India. Sitarist Sasha Bayan and a rotating cast of artists will take you from meditative atmospheres through long form improvisations.

Sasha Bayan:

Sasha Bayan is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, composer, and singer-songwriter based in San Francisco. He regularly performs solo and in ensembles throughout the Bay Area. His musical interests lead him to gigs where he plays classically-inspired sitar; classical, jazz, and Brazilian guitar; and his own original compositions and arrangements.

Nate Levin:

Nate Levin is a bassist , producer, and an international live electronic artist who improvises organic mid-tempo steady beat soundtracks for audiences all over the globe. Combining electronic and organic sounds, he creates totally unique world house beats unique for every performance.

Ahmed Ragab:

Music can take us on a personal journey to our true voice. I am here to support and guide you along your journey. Together, we can learn/write/perform any song/genre you desire. Music is a reflection of life itself, the experiences you live. I bring mental health and creative methods to make this music process a balanced and emotionally inclusive experience. I have performed and lived in Egypt, Japan and the United States over the course of the last 15 years. Living a multicultural life has brought my desire for exploration and adventure in different sonic landscapes a life long passion and now a profession.
