Every young person has potential. Sometimes that potential can be hidden behind difficult circumstances, poor choices, challenging environments or situations that make it difficult to see a positive way forward.
High Potential (not High Risk) is a special Inspiration & Empowerment event created to help young people recognise that they are capable of more and that there are positive pathways available to them.
This isn't about judging young people for where they have been.
It's about helping them think about where they could go next.
Join us for an evening of real stories, positive role models, practical insight, inspiration and connections with people and organisations who want to help young people recognise their potential and make positive choices about their future.
WHAT IF PEOPLE SAW YOUR POTENTIAL BEFORE THEY SAW YOUR PROBLEMS?
Too often, young people can become defined by their circumstances, their mistakes or the assumptions others make about them.
We want to change that conversation.
You are more than your circumstances.
You are more than your mistakes. You are more than a label.
You have potential.
And the right support, opportunities, relationships and choices can help you turn that potential into something positive.
WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
This event is particularly designed for:
Young people
- Who need inspiration, direction or support
- Who want to make positive changes in their lives
- Who are struggling to see a positive path forward
- Who have experienced challenging circumstances
- Who have recently returned to the community after a period in custody
- Who may be at risk of becoming involved in crime or other harmful situations
- Looking for positive opportunities, role models and support
Parents, guardians and family members who are concerned about a young person's future
Siblings who want to support someone close to them
Professionals, organisations and community members who are passionate about helping young people succeed
You don't have to be at a particular point in your journey to attend.
If you believe you have more to offer, or you know someone who does, this event is for you.
HIGH POTENTIAL. NOT HIGH RISK.
The question isn't:
"What's wrong with this young person?"
The question is:
"What's possible when we recognise their potential and give them the right support?"
We want to change the conversation from risk to possibility, from labels to potential, and from problems to pathways.
Others may see risk. We see talent, ambition and future leaders.
That should become one of the central messages of the entire campaign.

Ademola Adeyeba - Founder & CEO, 1000 Black Boys & Appy Group
Ademola Adeyeba is the Founder and CEO of 1000 Black Boys, a social enterprise committed to inspiring Black boys and young Black men to unleash their potential and live a life of purpose. He is also the Founder and CEO of Appy Group.
Through 1000 Black Boys, Ademola works to create opportunities that inspire young people, connect them with positive role models and help them access support and opportunities for their future.
Ainsley Nyandoro - 1000 Black Boys Alumni | Broadcaster | Host & Owner, People's Potential TV
Ainsley Nyandoro is a 1000 Black Boys alumnus, broadcaster and the host and owner of People's Potential TV.
As someone who has experienced the 1000 Black Boys journey as an alumnus, Ainsley brings a personal perspective to the conversation alongside his experience in broadcasting, media and creative platform building.

This reflects the wider objectives of 1000 Black Boys' Inspiration & Empowerment Events, including providing platforms for organisations, creating connections between them and helping young people and families access continued support.
TICKET INFORMATION
One ticket covers up to three people for £10
For example:
1 parent/guardian + 2 young people
That's approximately £3.33 per person.
If you are bringing additional people, please email their names and ages to:
Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event, subject to Eventbrite's applicable terms.

If you know a young person with potential who could benefit from being in the room, bring them with you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this event only for Black boys and young Black men?
No. The event is designed particularly around supporting all young people, including Black boys and young Black men, but parents, guardians, siblings, professionals and others who want to support young people are welcome.
Is this only for young people who are in trouble?
No. The event is about potential, choices, support and positive opportunities. You do not need to have been involved with the criminal justice system to attend.
Can I attend if I simply want to make positive changes?
Absolutely. If you're looking for inspiration, direction, support or a different pathway, you're welcome.
Can parents and guardians attend?
Yes. In fact, parents, guardians and family members are encouraged to attend if they want to support a young person.
Can siblings attend?
Yes. Siblings are welcome to be part of the experience and support someone close to them.
What will happen at the event?
There will be inspiring stories, speakers, conversations, opportunities to ask questions, connections with organisations and information about potential sources of ongoing support.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. One £10 ticket can cover up to three people. Please provide the names and ages of additional attendees as requested.
