We are delighted to invite you to our celebration of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur 5787/2026, which will commence in the secular calendar on the 11th of September, 2026. This year, our theme for the High Holy Days is “P'tach Libeinu: Open Our Hearts.”

As we hold the heaviness of living through these times, we will use these most sacred of days as an opportunity to open our hearts to grief, teshuva (atonement), forgiveness, community, empathy, compassion, and hope.

As in past years, we will largely pray at the Fourth Universalist Society, but there are some different locations this year. Please read on for important information about how you can join us.

We will be holding most of our High Holy Days Services at the Fourth Universalist Society at 160 Central Park West (at 76th St.), as well as on Zoom. Please note that Day 2 of Rosh Hashanah will be held at West End Synagogue at 190 Amsterdam Ave. (at 69th St.), followed by an afternoon picnic in Central Park open to members and guests. Please see below for specific timing and location for each service.

• Sep 11 Friday at 6:30pm - Erev Rosh Hashanah service, at Fourth Universalist Society
• Sep 12 Saturday at 10:00am - First Day of Rosh Hashanah, at Fourth Universalist Society (10:00am Morning Service, 11:15am Torah Service, 12:45pm Musaf)
• Sep 13 Sunday at 10:00am - Second Day of Rosh Hashanah, at West End Synagogue (10:00am-1:00pm, followed by 1:30pm-3:30pm intergenerational Rosh Hashanah picnic in Central Park (with Tashlich at Cherry Hill, followed by Sheep's Meadow)
• Sep 20 Sunday at 6:30pm - Kol Nidre service, at Fourth Universalist Society
• Sep 21 Monday at 10:00am - Yom Kippur, at Fourth Universalist Society (10:00am Morning Service, 11:15am Torah Service, 12:45pm Musaf, 2:00pm break, 5:00pm Mincha & Avodah, 6:45pm Neilah, 7:35pm Tekia Gedolah)

• $360 - our REGULAR non-member ticket.
• $180 - if you are a FIRST TIMER.
• $90 - for YOUNG ADULTS (30 years old or less) or STUDENTS.
• $90 - for ZOOM ONLY.

Refund policy: tickets are non-refundable. If requested by September 4th, your payment can be converted into a West End Synagogue credit and be applied towards items such as donations, membership dues, or 2027 High Holy Days tickets.

This is a great opportunity to become a West End Synagogue member: the cost of your High Holy Days tickets can be deducted from your 2026 membership dues (currently at $500 for those who join between July 1 and High Holy Days). New members also pay only 50% of their fair share dues in the second year (2027), which includes High Holy Days tickets for 2027. Click here to learn more about membership.

After you buy your tickets, you will receive a confirmation email, where you will find instructions on how the guests in your party should register on Zoom, should they wish to. A few days before High Holy Days, each registered guest will receive a Zoom email with the link to join services.

We will have opportunities throughout the High Holy Days for children and teens to gather for prayer, community, and creative learning. Please see below for specific offerings and reach out to [email protected] for specific questions.

• Sep 21 Monday at 10:00am - Yom Kippur, at Fourth Universalist Society (10:00am Drop-off, Crafts & Games, 11:30am Family Service & Lunch, 12:30pm-2:00pm Kids' Programming, 7:35pm Children invited to the Bima to lead Shofar calls & Havdalah)
