Join us Thursday, October 9, at 6:30pm for our second dinner in our High Elevation Wine Series. We'll be joined by Darryl Vennard of Vine Connection, a leading importer and distributor of family-produced wines from Chile and Argentina.To accompany the wines being featured, Chef Billy Wood has created a five-course menu, inspired by the regions the wines are produced in:
Reception: Casa Silva Sauvignon Gris 1912 Vines; Valle De Colchagua, Chile
First Course: Lamb Neck & Potato Empanada
Pasture-raised lamb neck, potato, yasgua sauce
Wine Pairing: La Posta Pizzella Vineyard Malbec; Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
Second Course: Sorrentinos
Filled pasta with sardo cheese and pork bolognese
Wine Pairing: Casa Silva Carmenere Los Lingues Vineyard; Valle De Colchagua, Chile
Third Course: Locro
Stew of hominy, beans, pumpkin, Red Wattle pork shoulder, and housemade chorizo
Wine Pairing: Casarena Owens Vineyard Agrelo Cabernet Sauvignon; Lujan De Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentian
Fourth Course: Vacio
Grass-fed vacio served with chimichurri rojo and rosemary potatoes
Wine Pairing: Luca Beso De Dante: Paraje Altamira, Tupungato & La Consutla; Mendoza, Argentina
Fifth Course: Chocotorta
Chocolate cookies layered with dulce de leche
