Punk-Rock
Hi-Fi Spitfires are a three piece punk band from the UK playing all their own material.
Formed in 2007 by Steve Straughan on vocals and guitar, they have Tony Taylor on bass and backing vocals, and Dean Ross on drums and backing vocals. They were once described as a band whose music can be stored in one’s record collection between SLF’s Inflammable Material and The Clash’s Give ‘Em Enough Rope.
They have 2 albums out on vinyl and CD, an EP and a 7” single, and are recording their 3rd album in January 2024. They have played gigs and festivals in the UK, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Switzerland, and Italy.
FORMED IN THE EARLY PART OF 2012 BY GUITARIST/SONGWRITER PAUL WILLIAMS AND SINGER/LYRICIST BEKI STRAUGHAN ON LEAD VOCALS, WHO WERE LATER JOINED BY MUSICAL ALLIES IN THE FORM OF BASSIST JAMES "OZ" BOWEY, COMPLETING THIS JUGGERNAUT OF A FOUR PIECE IS STEVEN NAISBET ON DRUMS/PERCUSSION.
Seit über zweieinhalb Dekaden scheppern The NOPES durch die große weite Welt der dreieinhalb Akkorde und ignorieren dabei stets die neuesten Trends. Wären sie jemals zur Schule gegangen,
müsste ihr Motto „Old-school as old-school can be” lauten.
In guter alter Tradition präsentieren sie ihren knackig röhrenden Soundteppich zu außerordentlich
guten und kaum klischeebehafteten Texten.
