About this Event
The earliest known representation of Christ and Gospel Women as people of color in American public space was uncovered in a church in Warren, RI in 2022. Adding historical complexity are the names of two white women the window commemorates, sisters married into the North’s largest slave-trading fortune, the DeWolfe family of Bristol. Join us for a free public presentation about the window’s discovery, its hidden history, and its future. The talk, led by Bristol historian Catherine Zipf, PhD and the window’s finder, architect and educator Hadley Arnold, will be at the Providence Public Library, Wednesday November 13th, at 5:00 pm. Free and open to the public.
