Hidden Herd Presents is Brighton’s new music discovery night, spotlighting the most exciting emerging artists, ones-to-watch and hidden gems. This time, come to The Prince Albert for a Hidden Herd x Crafting Room Recordings show featuring Hot Face, Jock and Telecom.Hot Face
Electric, exuberant and experimental, Hot Face are a garage-punk trio from London offering sonic catharsis with chaotic precision. Like a freakish crossover between Bad Brains, 13th Floor Elevators, Wire and Frank Zappa, the ever-evolving trio first landed on the radar with the release of their debut single, ‘dura dura’, via Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground. Championed by So Young Magazine and played by Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft on BBC Radio 6 Music, the band have since appeared at the Supersonic Club in Paris, Manchester Psych Fest and Left of the Dial Rotterdam. They’ve also shared stages with acts such as Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Opus Kink, October and the Eyes, Miss Tiny and Flat Party, as well as Brighton favourites Porchlight and Moon Idle.

Jock
Partly based in Brighton, Jock are a three-piece garage punk band that originated in Belfast in 2022. Drawing inspiration from post-punk revival and indie rock heavyweights such as Gossip, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Le Tigre, Jock also channel the raw energy of 90s riot grrrl icons like Bikini K*ll, Red Aunts, Heavens to Betsy and Babes in Toyland. The band has self-recorded and released a series of singles to date, including their latest standout track, ‘Joe Duffy’. Recent live highlights include supporting Swim School at Chalk, performing at BBC Radio 6 Music’s New Music Fix Live hosted by Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft and appearing at Foo La Fest in Belfast alongside Problem Patterns, M(h)aol, Silverbacks and The Love Buzz.

Telecom
Blending the lush melodies and harmonies of 60s psych-pop with the sleek textures of contemporary electronica, Telecom are carving out a distinctive niche in the indie music landscape. This January, the five-piece are set to unveil their timeless yet forward-thinking sound with the release of their debut single, ‘Mister Mister’, recorded at Salvation Music Studios. The single follows a year spent honing their craft on Brighton’s vibrant live scene, where they’ve supported acts such as Langkamer and Video Age, alongside local favourites SAD DADS and Room Service. With momentum building, Telecom are quickly becoming Brighton’s best-kept secret.
