Hidden Dance — An Introduction to Butoh
A journey into the unseen language of the body. Join Michael & Bonnie for an immersive introduction to Butoh — a Japanese contemporary dance practice born from transformation, presence, and the exploration of the body’s hidden landscapes.
Together we will explore what Butoh is, its origins, philosophy, and how this powerful art form invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and allow movement to emerge from within.
Through Butoh technique/ warm ups and guided explorations, we will awaken the senses, connect with imagination, and discover new pathways of expression.
The experience will flow into an ecstatic dance journey with a live DJ set by Michael, weaving Butoh-inspired music and soundscapes to held space for experimental freestyle Butoh flow.
A space to meet yourself through movement, release, transform, and discover the poetry living inside your body.
