HFLA Holiday Celebration: SAKADA Day - 12-20-24 -12pm-1:30pm at HSBA

Hawaii Revised Statutes Sec. 8-18.5 officially recognizes December 20 as SAKADA Day in Hawaii.

Let's get together at the HSBA on Friday, noon - 12/20/24 to celebrate the holiday season and honor the Sakadas, with a screening of "The Sakada Series" Documentaries - three short films (35min total) that capture the personal stories, struggles and successes of the Sakadas - Filipino contract workers who immigrated to Hawaii between 1906-1946 to work as laborers for Hawaii’s sugar and pineapple plantations.
