Heyday of Student Radicalism: Occupation of Flinders Uni Registry 1974

At 2.00 pm Sunday 1st December 2024 at the Box Factory, Nix Herriot will speak about the month-long student occupation of Flinders University Registry in 1974.

Nix’s History Honours thesis was an oral history of the occupation, and Andrew McHugh, one of the participants in the occupation, will also speak. 2024 is the 50th anniversary of the occupation which has been called the heyday of student radicalism in SA.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A in which Nix Herriot and Andrew McHugh will answer questions about who participated, how it started and how it eventually ended.
