About this Event

"Once tasted, the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the next exciting chapter."

We're brining the North’s biggest book club, as part of the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival to Hexham Library thanks to The Big Read project, run as part of HIF+

Join Reader in Residence, Luca Veste, author of several police procedurals and standalone crime novels, including The Bone Keeper and The Six. As well as being the host of the ‘Two Crime Writers and a Microphone’ podcast and the co-founder of the Locked In festival, he also plays bass guitar in the band The Fun Lovin' Crime Writers.

Luca will be discussing Ajay Chowdhury’s ‘The Detective’, an addictive, edge-of-your-seat mystery and Sunday Times crime book of the year.

Whilst this is the third instalment in his Detective Kamil Rahman series, the books can be read as standalone. We hope this title will grip readers and bring them to explore the full series from Ajay.

Places at this one-off book club are FREE but should if possible be booked in advance to enusre a spot.
