Heroes' Alliance Vehicle Technology Challenge
The event will feature Detroit-area high school students and visiting teams competing with student-designed and student-built solar and electric vehicles while demonstrating innovation in clean energy, engineering, and advanced mobility technologies.
The Heroes' Alliance Vehicle Technology Team has earned back-to-back National Championships (2022 & 2023) at the Solar Car Challenge and a National Runner-Up finish in 2024.
The free public event takes place Friday, July 17, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM At the Belle Isle Casino Paddock, Belle Isle Park Detroit, Michigan
Participating Teams Include: Heroes' Alliance – The Genius Within Cooperative Learning Center (Detroit, MI), Saginaw STEM – OffScript Dream (Saginaw, MI) and DMV STEM – Catalyst (Washington, D.C.)
WHY IT MATTERS
Detroit revolutionized transportation more than a century ago. Today, Detroit students are helping shape its future. This historic challenge showcases the next generation of engineers, technicians, and innovators while introducing young people to careers in electric mobility, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and clean transportation technologies.
Heroes' Alliance has served more than 1,000 students through hands-on STEAM education programs designed to bridge the gap between education and workforce opportunities.
