Heritage Skills Workshops preserve traditional skills through instruction, demonstration, and hands-on learning. Join us as we go through traditional methods of extracting a Puget Sound delicacy.
"Shucking" is a culinary term used to describe the removal of the outer shell or “shucks” from either corn or oysters. Interestingly, the term is not used in relation to any other food items, and corn and oysters have very little else in common. While the term dates to the late 17th century, no one knows exactly how it came to be used. Join this hands-on, in-person workshop to learn how to shuck oysters, one delicious bite at a time.
