Heritage Happy Hour: Chile Lindo
Heritage Happy Hour is a convivial “no-host” gathering of heritage professionals, young preservationists, aficionados, friends, and Legacy Business cohorts interested in safeguarding San Francisco’s unique architectural and cultural identity. We get together on the Second Thursday of each month from 5-7 pm at a registered Legacy Business (usually bar or restaurant) in San Francisco.
Located in the Mission District, Chile Lindo is a traditional Chilean bakery famous for its empanadas, cakes, and “dulce chilenos” (pastries). The restaurant has had Chilean ownership since its founding in 1973. Luisa and Jorge Liberona founded the business and ran it for 15 years before selling it to Angelica Oviedo in 1985, who owned Chile Lindo for a decade. In 1995, the current owner Paula Tejeda purchased the business, and since then has worked tirelessly to grow its presence in the community and promote Chilean culture through its cuisine.
Paula also expanded Chile Lindo across the street several years ago to a cozy event space (available for rent!) at 2943 16th Street. **This is the location where we will meet for Happy Hour. Paula will have Chilean beer and bubbly for sale alongside her famous empanadas!
Chile Lindo joined the Legacy Business Registry in 2025.
