Hello fellow DBAers,
Announcing a new event to add to the smorgasbord of opportunities to play DBA in the Australian Capital Territory. For the first time, DBA has been added as an event to HEROCON..
Event overview: While the event includes a tournament, we also aim to showcase the game to new players.
When:
Day 1: 30 November 2024. Pick-up/casual games. Armies, boards and terrain will be available. Experienced players will be available to help. While this day is focussed on new players (tell your mates!), experienced players who want to drop in for a casual game or two are more than welcome. Experienced players will be available to help.
Day 2: 01 December 2024. Six-round open, single list tournament. 15mm scale. Bring an army (or borrow one) and roll some dice.

Where:
The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) gym. ADFA has bucket-loads of parking and easy access.

with links to a HEROCON Players’ Information Pack with information about the convention, and a DBA-specific players pack. There are currently no limits on player numbers, so it’s a great opportunity to bring along prospective new players.

While HEROCON is run by the Australian Defence Force Wargaming Association, it is very much open to the public and running since 2015. HEROCON is a great little event, with 13 systems on offer and more than 100 participants already registered at time of posting. Cost to enter the tournament is a very reasonable $15. All profits from HEROCON go to charity, supporting Soldier On .
For the regulars on the antipodean circuit, this one won’t count towards the fight for the Magister Militum Capitoline Territorialis. We’ll revisit this If it becomes a permanent fixture in the future.
