The Justin Remfrey New Trio plays the more melodic and tonal jazz compositions of Berlin bassist and composer Justin Remfrey.
This formation is characterized by calm precision without mathematical coldness and a focus on the overall sound. Harmonic clichés are broken with the aim of ultimately paying an unfiltered homage to those sounds that were previously called into question. A steady pulse is breathed by the three musicians, gradually articulated. Nevertheless, there is still room for spontaneity and abstraction at the end. Minimalism and calmness give a special energy that is to be cultivated through the playing of the three musicians.
