A hands-on class introducing herbarium methods and applications using dried, preserved native plants from the Santa Monica Mountains.
About this Event

Herbariums are important in studying and restoring pollinator plants of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Join Ranger Master and Antonio Sanchez, nursery manager and restoration volunteer coordinator for Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, to learn how to cultivate seeds, label and identify local plants with Herbariums.

Meet us at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas on Saturday, October 2nd 9:00 a.m. We will meet in the courtyard with the blue umbrellas.

The 90-minute program will be limited to 25 people, so please be sure to register. Don't forget your sun hat, sunscreen, water, and your gardening gloves.

This event is open to everyone. Registered participants will be given an pressed plant at the end of the workshop.
