About this Event

DESCRIPTION: Check it out, we got an all-new lit hiking experience at the scenic Carkeek Park in Seattle for all of the trailblazers out there. Join us in exploring the lush greenery and beauty of the Pacific Northwest this summer with another Herban Adventures - a series of group hiking events with the homies.

From seasoned hikers to beginners, all are welcome to participate and discover the beauty of nature. So if you are looking to get out of the concrete jungle, lace up your kicks and join us to explore the sick views in the heart of Seattle. We're talking about creeks, beaches, forests, fields and all the greenery you want to get lost in. And the best part is you get to breathe deep, relax, and enjoy the vibes while getting some fresh air and exercise with other dope people just like you. Event is free to attend, but you must RSVP. So don't sleep, grab your crew, and sign up now to join Herban Adventures on the ultimate journey through Carkeek Park.

The majority of the hike will take place on Pipers Creek Trail. The trail is approximately 3.8 miles long with around 500 feet of gain and should take around 1.5 hours to complete. Why “only” 3.8 miles+/-? Because it makes our events accessible to more people and community is the core of our events. We’ll walk at our own pace and stay together as a group. No hiker left behind! Beginners are always welcome and encouraged to join! We’ll make several stops along the trail and on the water so that people can take pictures and admire the beautiful views.

This is a great event to talk and get to know other Washingtonians in a very casual and non-awkward way. Our host will be there to make introductions and everyone gets a chance to talk with everyone. See you on the trail!

********************************************

ABOUT THE PARK: Carkeek Park is located in northwest Seattle. The park includes all of Piper's Creek, plus the adjoining side hills and some side streams, plus a beach area. We will begin the hike at the Eddie McAbee Entrance on NW 100th Place, near 6th Ave NW. There's a signboard at the trailhead with a park map and often, paper copies of a trail map available for the taking.

DISTANCE: The hike is approximately 3.8 miles in a circular out-and-back loop. These hikes are appropriate for beginners in good health.

RESTROOMS: There will be bathrooms available halfway through the hike.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

There are no kids or pets allowed on the hikes for safety concerns. Please leave home with ample time and arrive promptly, taking traffic into consideration etc. We will meet at 11:00am to greet each other, do some stretches, and have a quick photo session before we start the walk at 11:30am. We won’t wait for late comers! We will take a headcount at the beginning of the walk and strive to keep the group together, but sometimes split happens. It isn't a race and we aim to keep no hiker left behind! Should the group get disconnected, we will stop at all trail forks for the group to catch up. Once we finish this beautiful waterfront walk, we always end the walk with a light picnic where the socializing can continue. Be sure to join us for the whole experience!

IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING:

You are responsible for looking after your own health, safety and belongings. The leaders are human, things might happen. Be ready to be a part of the solution. Know what you are capable of and communicate that to the group leader.

WHAT TO BRING:

Comfortable outfit for the weather preferably hiking gear. You may just need a hat, light shirt or jacket, but be sure to check the forecast as the weather may change. A day pack or shoulder bag is recommended to carry your items. Wear sturdy hiking boots/sneakers or regular sneakers with good traction that you don’t mind getting muddy. No sandals/flip flops! If you want to consume cannabis before or after the hike, this group is friendly for that but please, understand that you are consuming at your own risk. Please do it discreetly at designated consumption areas since we will be on public land. Also, you need to bring your own W**d, please. Some homies will probably be willing to share, but don’t expect that from anyone. Lastly, do not bring bongs or torches or ANY illegal drugs. Cannabis vape pens, bowls, joints, and edibles are preferred. Thank you for your understanding.
