Herbal syrups are about so much more than elderberry.
Join Certified Clinical Herbalist Sheila of YaMaya’s Gift for a hands-on Herbal Syrup Lab where we’ll explore how herbs, water and sweeteners can be transformed into practical preparations for the home medicine cabinet.
We’ll talk about elderberry syrup, traditional garlic and onion preparations, herbal blends, nighttime syrups and more, while learning the basic method that allows you to begin creating herbal syrups at home.
During the lab, we’ll cover herbal syrup basics, choosing appropriate herbs and ingredients, preparation methods, sweetener options, storage and shelf life, basic safety considerations, and ways to customize a preparation for its intended purpose.
Then we’re putting that knowledge to work.
This is a hands-on workshop, so you’ll make an herbal syrup preparation during class and take your creation home with you.
No previous herbal experience is necessary. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
