Herbal Soap Making as Intuitive Practice

Do you have super sensitive skin, love artisanal soap, or have a specific creation youd like to try out? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make your own, customized soap in your own kitchen using ingredients you can actually pronounce? You're in the right place!

Many commercial soaps contain cheap perfume & synthetic detergents that can be harsh on sensitive skin and terrible for the environment. Come learn to make your own soap, customize it for your needs, and get all the details youll need to create all natural aromatheraputic bars. Plus, here at Seagrape we always add a little magic and ritual to our classes, so come curious!

All materials are provided for this class! You will make your own custom cold process soap that you can pick up 1 week after class to cure at home. Bring a notebook, pen, face mask and your magic.

In this 3-hour workshop we will explore:

• Safety of soapmaking
• The basics of making cold process botanical soap
• Blending our own essential oil scents for the bars
• Ingredient benefits & methods of creating a bar of soap you can truly delight in
• Infusing your soap with intention and magic!

Accessibility

• This class will be held in our production space in the basement, which is down a flight of stairs. The space is not mobility device accessable.
• The space has many essential oils in it and may not be for folks that are (natural) scent scensitive.

NOTES:

• Because making soap from scratch involves working with lye (sodium hydroxide) all soap makers attempting this technique be 18+ years or older.
• Wear and apron and closed toe shoes!
• Please bring a mask with you! You will be asked to wear your mask throughout class. If you're experiencing any COVID symptoms prior to the gathering, please do not attend the gathering.
• Enrollment is accepted up until the day of the event, while spots are available.

Seagrape Apothecary Cancellation Policy:

All tickets are nonrefundable.

If Seagrape Apothecary reschedules a workshop or class and an attendee cannot attend the rescheduled workshop or class, a class credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

If Seagrape Apothecary cancels a workshop or class, attendees will get the choice between class credit or a Seagrape Apothecary gift card. If class credit is chosen, a credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation. If the gift card is chosen, a digital gift card worth the ticket value will be shared via email and valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

COVID Exceptions: If an attendee tests positive for COVID and reaches out prior to an in-person class to let us know, a class credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year.
