Herb Walks: Prophets over Profits

Please join Urban Growers Collective for these monthly Herbal Wisdom Explorations! Led by UGC Herbalism Conductor Kim Crutcher, in conjunction with UGC staff and herbalism apprentices, these gatherings offer an opportunity to gain a somatic knowledge of living plants. Our program is unique because we provide an opportunity to learn about herbs in the presence of the living plant. The 2026 theme is Prophets Over Profits; an exploration of the harm that the Anthropocene inflicts on human and non-human bodies and the way that nature responds with resilience. At the end of each herb walk, we will share what we witnessed to see if we can discover a message from the Plant Kingdom. 

Though each session follows a similar format, there are different monthly practices of observation, and nature will offer different herbs each time. So, put on your farm-appropriate apparel, and bring your curiosity to this communal space.
