Making herbal vinegars, oils and spice mixes with Master Gardener Janis Fallon. August is a great time to harvest herbs and use them. The class will have a short discussion on kitchen and garden herbs and then will be hands on where you will make your own herbal vinegar, a fire cider vinegar, and a spice mix to take home. Bring your own extra virgin olive oil or favorite oil if you'd also like to make an infused oil. Other materials will be provided. We will sample some herbal recipes using fresh and dried herbs - if you have a favorite summer herbal recipe, bring it to share with the written recipe. We'll compile and send out recipes after the meeting to attendees. Also bring any of your favorite books or resources you use to make your herbal recipes.
