Once again we welcome Henry Parker to the Grove. This is a chance to see a fine guitarist and songster firmly rooted in the folk tradition.
Henry’s folk influences include Bert Jansch and Nick Drake and finger-picking and open tunings rapidly became the essence of his sound. Coupled with a love for his immediate moorland surroundings of West Yorkshire, we are presented with a strain of informed, progressive folk music.
Henry has played many concerts supporting many of his musical heroes, including Michael Chapman, Wizz Jones and Bridget St John.
Henry has produced two engaging, thoughtful and dynamic albums combining his own unique voice with influences of past groundbreaking folk artists. His eco conscious debut album 'Silent Spring' (2019), and his latest ‘Lammas
Fair', released at the end of 2021, brings him to the forefront of the progressive folk music world. Heralded across the music press as an essential album.
A host of new releases are planned for 2026, including further collaborations with David Ian Roberts and a new project with Goblin Band vocalist Gwena, in which the pair revive the iconic music of Shirley Collins and Davy Graham. Parker's highly anticipated third solo album is fully written and currently in development for release in early 2027.
