It’s time to once more embrace the chaos of the end of the year by figuratively embracing both each other and the wonder/repellence of Christmas pop at the Hengequeens Unhinged Christmas Special (ft. The Piranhanahs).
Join us to get Unhenged (see what we did there) at Lyric's Underground in Maylands on Saturday 21st December. There will be sets from the band (The Piranhanahs) and the choir (Hengequeens), and then we’ll join forces with one another and with YOU to turn some of the best/worst Christmas pop we know into the silliest singalong you could ever hope to participate in. It’s like if Carols By Candlelight and Karaoke had a mutant shark elf singing feminist baby. What? It’s exactly like that.
This year we’re contributing all funds raised to Ruah Community Services, whose Centre for Women and Children in Northbridge is a one-stop place providing safety and recovery services for people fleeing family domestic violence.

BIOS
Hengequeens is a feminist pop choir for people marginalised by the patriarchy. They sing songs by, for and about women and non-binary people, in bespoke 3-6 part arrangements. A pox on setlists full of white dudes!
The Piranhanahs are Perth's newest instrumental surf rock band, who are as green as the room of the salty barrels they crave. They bring original tunes following in the classic footsteps of The Ventures, The Surfaris and The Atlantics fresh to you for your Hawaiian-shirt-wearing pleasure.
