About this Event
Attention future innovators and problem-solvers! Come join us for an information session about Columbia University's FREE hands-on research opportunities at the "Hello, Columbia University: Exploring Science and Education Programs." Led by Dr. Kristin Myers, a pioneering mechanical engineer whose work is transforming our understanding of pre-term birth through advanced biomechanics, this interactive information session will introduce you to opportunities to take advantage of.
We'll dive deep into Columbia's Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program, a 10-week immersion that pairs you with world-class faculty mentors, provides hands-on research experience, and offers a generous stipend. But that's not all – you'll also learn about the groundbreaking Bridge to PhD in STEM program, designed to prepare underrepresented scholars for doctoral studies with two fully funded years of research and coursework.
Dr. Myers will guide you through these programs and more, revealing how to become a standout applicant for opportunities that offer stipends, free tuition, housing, and even travel reimbursements for internships, summer programs, and graduate studies. Whether you're passionate about engineering, fascinated by scientific discovery, or eager to make a lasting impact, this session is your launchpad to an extraordinary future in STEM. We're excited to meet you!
