About this Event

"Why would she smoke crack if she's pregnant?"

Join us for a powerful evening of storytelling, truth-telling, and community dialogue centered on birth equity, Black motherhood, and healing. Our featured guest will be Kristie Puckett, coming from North Carolina and co-founder of Second Chance Federation. Kristie's lived experience sits at the intersection of pregnancy, incarceration, crack addiction, recovery, and advocacy. We will feature her DocuCourse film Held & Healing, along with additional narratives around Black motherhood. Guest speakers, panels, and healthcare showcases will be included. Our aim is to broaden awareness and emphasize the importance of creating accountable healthcare and justice systems, services, and most of all, the role of community intervention and support.

Hosted By: Uzazi Village, Reale Justice Network, Samuel Rodgers Health, and Second Chance Federation.
