Discover the art of Heirloom Hair Weaving! Join us on November 26, from 6-8 PM as Ashley Royer and Anna Alamond guide you through the mesmerizing, lost art of hair weaving. Popularized by the Victorians, hair weaving was a delicate and intricate way to remember loved ones. These unique, ornate hair wreaths—entirely crafted from human hair and wire—served as mementos of family members alive and deceased.
Due to the overwhelming interest in our own Victorian hair wreath on display, we’re hosting this one-of-a-kind workshop to share the history and techniques behind this fascinating art form. And no worries if you’re squeamish—we’ll be using synthetic hair! (But if you’ve been saving your own locks for a special project, feel free to bring them along!)
