About this Event
HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY – Special Screening & Director Q&A
Join us for a powerful evening as we present HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY, a new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Sam Feder (Disclosure), fresh from its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.
Fearless civil rights lawyer Chase Strangio, the first out trans attorney to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court, takes on Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth in United States v. Skrmetti. This urgent documentary exposes how biased media coverage fuels anti-trans legislation, with voices from journalists and activists including Jelani Cobb, Lydia Polgreen, Gina Chua, and Laverne Cox. As the Court prepares to rule, Heightened Scrutiny reveals the fight for trans healthcare as a battle for democracy itself.
Featuring insights from leading journalists and activists—including Laverne Cox, Jelani Cobb, Lydia Polgreen, and Gina Chua—HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY is an urgent call to action against bigotry and injustice.
🎬 Special Guest: Director Sam Feder will join us live for a post-screening Q&A.
