About this Event

Poet and editor Heidi Seaborn launches her third book of poetry, tic tic tic, at the store. tic tic tic is a clear-eyed lyric take on the chaos of our times, yet an affirmation of the human spirit. A life is lived, a new generation created, faith smolders, love and hope persist. She will be joined by fellow poets Suzanne Edison, Tina Schumann, & Cindy Veach, who will each read select work.

Registration is not required, but helps us anticipate audience size. If you'd like to RSVP, please do so here!

tic tic tic begins in the ashes of 2019—a roaring ‘20s New Year’s Eve party gives way to a pandemic, an insurrection, war after war, the possibility of tyranny and the mounting climate crisis. Along the way, the steady change of seasons and tick of time elevate the tension between the urgency of the moment and history’s expanse, between an individual’s response and the inevitable legacy of collective generations. tic tic tic is a clear-eyed lyric take on the chaos of our times, yet an affirmation of the human spirit. A life is lived, a new generation created, faith smolders, love and hope persist.

Heidi Seaborn is the author of three books of poetry, tic tic tic (2025), An Insomniac’s Slumber Party with Marilyn Monroe, Give a Girl Chaos, and three chapbooks. She’s won numerous awards including The Missouri Review Editors Prize in Poetry. Heidi holds degrees from Stanford and NYU and is Executive Editor of The Adroit Journal.

She is the Mental Health Coordinator at the Cure JM Foundation and teaches expressive writing to caregivers through UCSF Wellness Center for Youth with Chronic Conditions.

She is editor of the IPPY-award winning anthology Two Countries. U.S. Daughters and Sons of Immigrant Parents (Red Hen) and poetry editor for Wandering Aengus Press.
