Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city and discover a hidden side of Norwich.
Heavenly Gardens is transforming the city's medieval churchyards into a unique network of beautiful themed gardens, celebrating history, nature and the people who have shaped our city. From a medieval herb garden at St Margaret's to plants from Norwich's twinned cities at All Saints, and a growing collection honouring Norfolk botanists, every garden has its own fascinating story to tell.
This taster session is the perfect opportunity to experience what it's like to be part of the team. Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply enjoy being outdoors, you'll be warmly welcomed. Spend a few hours helping to care for these remarkable green spaces, learning new skills, meeting friendly people and making a real difference to the city.
Volunteers meet every Thursday morning, enjoying fresh air, gentle exercise and great conversation while helping these historic churchyards flourish. Many say one of the best parts is seeing Norwich from a completely different perspective – peaceful, elevated spaces tucked away from the busy streets below.
