Come celebrate Earth Day with us at Roots to Crown by co-creating Heaven on Earth with us!
This 3-part event offers a planting ceremony, permaculture talks, vendors, a collective song journey, and a concert featuring Paul Izak, Max Ribner, Katrina Lilly, and Brielle Aguila!
11 am - 3 pm Join us for a lineup of permaculture talks, planting ceremony, and earthy vendors! More details TBA
5 pm - 7 pm Join us for a Songwriting Workshop with Katrina Lilly and Max Ribner
When we speak, there is tone. When we move, there is rhythm.
Bridging the gap between stage and audience, we welcome you to an immersive experience/workshop where we all become part of the orchestra. Over two hours, we will be writing a song that presents itself in the moment while learning basic rhythms, choir parts, deep listening, and creative lyric writing. As a collective, we will journey into a prayerful space of connectivity, belonging, and coming home through song. Participants will then have the opportunity to share this song that evening during the evening performance!!!
All voices, ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience are welcome
From 7 pm - 11 pm We have our Medicine Music Concert!
Katrina Lilly sets the tone for the concert with an opening pray-formance. Brielle then will take the stage sharing songs meant to heal and uplift the collective. Then headliner Paul Izak shares his journey through music, inspired by his commitment to a simple, clean, and healthy lifestyle, deeply rooted in organic farming, yoga, and surfing. Max Ribner concludes the event with a poignant candlelight vigil, drawing us together in a reflective and unifying close. This sequence promises an evening of soulful connections and musical healing.
About the Artists:
Paul Izak is an organic farmer, yoga practitioner and surfer who is raising his family in the back roads of Waimanalo. His music has reached millions around the world who are also committed to a simple, clean and healthy land-based lifestyle.
The whole family can jam out to Paul’s music - representing a healthy and simplistic life, Paul is a believer in honoring yourself as an individual so that you may better contribute to your community through healthy sustainable practices. This is the message you get through Paul’s music, as he strives to practice what he preaches.
Max Ribner is a musical artist deeply rooted in the power of jazz, groove, gospel, and classical music. His work seeks to heal disconnection and foster unity through singable mantras and a community-driven approach. Ribner's debut solo album, "1st Language," showcases a global collaboration of over 50 artists, emphasizing the unifying power of music. Raised in a musically rich coastal town and a Berklee College of Music alumnus, Max's journey has intertwined musical activism with community service, making him a beacon for collective harmony and resilience. Max's unique approach to flugelhorn and trumpet has led him to perform with artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Nahko and Medicine For The People, Trevor Hall, Polish Ambassador, Liv Warfield, Sol Rising, and more.
Katrina (Katt) Lilly is a vocal powerhouse who has been a full-time music maker for the last 8 years, and part-time musician for several years before that. In addition to being a singer/songwriter, performer, and recording artist, she is also a vocal coach/teacher and specializes in teaching vocal activation, confidence building, songwriting, and the art of singing harmony. Her vocal style is refreshingly authentic and she’s often compared to the stylings/sound of Erykah Badu and even Adele. She weaves inspirational lyrics, free flow channeling, and soulful sounds to create transformational music journeys that evoke deep emotion from her listeners. She plays keyboard/piano, ukulele, guitar, drum, and occasionally other instruments as needed to support her big, soulful voice.
Brielle Águila combines motherhood, nature classes, permaculture, foraging, herbalism, and ceremony with her main passion: channeling medicine music to transform pain into strength and inspiration. She draws wisdom from animal, plant, fungi allies, and the elements, inspired by the pure aspects of Pachamama. Her teachings and music emphasize the sacredness of life's cycles, aiming to restore the web of life and promote a life of reciprocity, humility, and wholeness. Holding a Bachelor's in Sustainability and the Environment, certified in Agroecology and Permaculture Design, Brielle is set to teach Intro to Permaculture, guide plant tours, and conduct planting ceremonies in South Florida. Her vision is to intertwine music with earth stewardship through permaculture and food forest ceremonies, guiding others home to inner safety and empowerment. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin! She's grateful for the opportunity to channel this healing music and steward the land respectfully.
