About this Event
Join us for a night of authentic expression and community!
All forms of artistic expression are welcome: poetry, music, creative writing, storytelling, visual arts, dance, journal entries or your last collection of notes. You don’t have to be an accomplished artist or even share an original work, although we will always be happy to hear what the piece means to you. What’s important is that it’s real, that we share it, and that together we create a safe space where inner truth is received.
It can be a tender and powerfully healing act to make art in the first place. It can be that much more tender, and that much more powerful, to share it with others. Together, we will create a space to move through fears and blockages around sharing our authenticity and move towards real joy and freedom in expression.
See below a little more about your hosts!
General flow of the evening:
- 6:30pm - Doors open & sign-ups
- 6:45pm - Landing and intro
- 7:00pm - Open mic
- 9:30pm - Closing & community time
- 10:00pm - Leave the space
We will have a sign-up sheet at the door for open mic slots. Artists will have 5-8 minutes for their performance depending on the number of signups. Try to make it on time so we can land in the space and witness all of the acts together. Chairs and cushions will be provided, but please bring your own blankets and anything else you may want to make yourself cozy.
Heartsong is a Toronto-based movement to come together in community, share our voices, make some magic and have fun! Our mission is to create safe and deeply loving containers for free and authentic expression to be shared.
