Hearts and Minds Matter

At Hearts and Minds Matter, we understand that a child’s potential is boundless, and that they can and will make a difference in the world when provided with the right learning environment. To inspire this potential, students need to feel a sense of belonging in a safe space in order to survive, thrive and become resilient.

Hearts and Minds Matter is an 18-hour training, containing six modules delivered over three days. Through this invaluable professional development opportunity, you will engage in meaningful and in-depth learning that connects the hearts and minds of every individual. In addition, you will also experience:

• A new and inspiring professional development program that will ignite teachers’ passion and understanding of the importance of building inclusion and community in which every individual feels safe, valued, supported, engaged and motivated;
  

• How basic human needs and emotions are inter-connected and influence action, behavior and potential;
  
• Current and relevant content and highly effective instructional and inclusion strategies that will facilitate academic achievement while developing the social-emotional growth of children and adolescents;
  
• An understanding of the factors influencing the development of emotional intelligence and resiliency; and
• Ways teachers can re-integrate students into their classrooms post-Covid given that many will have developed mental health concerns that need to be addressed.
