Heartland Kinbaku Public Rope Social (free)

Heartland Kinbaku is a values based community education program offering progressive education in Japanese rope bondage. Our six month program of weekly classes supported with twice weekly open studio sessions takes students from basic techniques through static suspension in an inclusive, supportive environment. We have also decided to offer regular public rope socials for free to provide the community with a place to connect and help find the resources they need to begin or continue their rope journeys safely.

This event is unstructured, though members of our teaching staff, or current students, may be available to chat or help with basic rope questions.

Attendees may socialize or utilize the space to practice rope. Use of the suspension points requires approval from HK staff and may be denied or revoked for any reason at our discretion. We ask that you respect our decisions regarding the risks we are comfortable with in our space.

Please see our COVID policies here. N95 masks are required in the studio at all times (we have extras if you need one). Proof of vaccination is required to enter the studio. Effective 1/1, all visitors to the studio must provide proof of vaccination covering their original vaccination as well as a booster.

We have HEPA filters in the studio that recycle the air every 17 minutes. We feel confident that that level of filtration combined with boosters and N95 masks gives excellent protection against transmission of COVID in the studio.

Exact address and entrance instructions will be required emailed to registered attendees prior to the event. Please do not share this information with anyone.

Note that this is an educational and practice event and space. Street legal attire must be worn at all times and no sexual or sex adjacent activities are allowed in this venue per local laws. We recommend checking out one of the excellent local nonprofit clubs for exploring that kind of play.
