About this Event
Join us as we tour two museums in Tehachapi! The Tehachapi museum is a beautiful art deco building from 1931. It has artifacts from the time of the Kawaiisu, the early settlers, ranchers and railroad who came to this mountain town. Across the street is the Errea House, the oldest home in Tehachapi. It was built in the 1870's. This gives students a chance to see how a family lived in that time period.
We encourage families to turn in a sample that is linked to the field trip that you attended during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these trips and their educational value.
Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family please indicate this when you register your student and let the field trip host know once you complete your registration. Any student that is registered without a chaperone will have their reservation canceled unless the family reaches out to the field trip lead and lets them know which registered chaperone will be responsible for their student.
**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**
*Masks will be required for all indoor field trips per California state guidelines.

Refunds will not be given. As a courtesy, if you are sick or unable to attend a field trip please contact the teacher that planned the event to let them know so they do not wait at the venue for you. You may not send a different family in your place as we will not have a waiver for them.
Can I pay using my funds? This field trip is free but all attendees must register for a ticket.
Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome.
What are the check-in procedures? Meet in front of the museum - Teacher will wear a Heartland shirt
Is there on-site parking available? Parking is free. Please park on the street.
Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? No.
Please do not bring food that contains peanuts to any Heartland event.
*Heartland does not provide transportation to any of our field trips.
