De legendarische Amerikaanse zanger Krishna Das, ook wel de rock star van de mantra genoemd, geeft twee Kirtan concerten op maandag 28 juni en dinsdag 29 juni in De Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam.
Op 30 juni geeft KD zijn workshop Heart of Devotion in De Duif in Amsterdam. Wat een mooie manier om de zomer met elkaar in te luiden. 🙂
Krishna Das heeft een bijzondere bezielde stem die je diep zal raken en deelt vol liefde en humor over zijn spirituele levensreis. Het samen zingen van mantra's is een manier om het hart te zuiveren. Laat alles los en zing!

What a gift! The legendary Kirtan artist Krishna Das will be back in The Netherlands for two kirtan concerts on June 28th and June 29th in De Dominicuskerk in Amsterdam. He has a remarkable soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in every listener. What a joy to come together and sing our hearts out.

Bio Krishna Das:
Layering traditional Hindu kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Krishna Das has been called yoga's "rock star."
Krishna Das - known to friends, family, and fans as simply KD - has taken call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling chant artist of all time, with over 300,000 records sold. His album 'Live Ananda' (released January 2012) was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age album category.
Sharing his heart through music and chanting is the basis of Krishna Das' own spiritual work; his way of serving the Divine within himself and others.
“The chanting just hits you and you want to be a part of it,” KD promises. “That’s the point of this whole thing. That’s what cuts through all the ‘stuff’. You get lit up. You don’t have to know what it means.”

Chanting, helps us dive into a deeper place in our hearts. Peace of heart comes as the process of coming closer to our Self continues to burn our shortcomings in the fire of the deepest Love. “Love is what lasts the 24 hours.” Chanting helps remind us and strengthens our ability to remember that deeper Reality We get a chance to immerse ourselves in the stream of devotion. For an hour or two, nothing else is required. We have nothing else to do. We can gather ourselves and jump into that river…rushing to the Ocean of Love. Sometimes I say to a group, ”I guarantee you one thing tonight: No one’s problems will be solved. So just forget about everything and sing. There is no reason to hold onto anything. Let go and give yourself wholeheartedly to what we’re doing for this short period of time. Sing your heart out and we’ll see what’s left to worry about when it’s over.” I sing to save my own soul. I am happy to be able to sing with people because that helps me give myself to the practice with a greater intensity.
