HeartBeats: June 2026 [A Sound Life Edition]
HeartBeats 'A Sound Life Edition'
..and just like that, we're heading into another Melbourne winter. And you know what that means.. Time to get your alpaca socks on, tune up your guitar, pour a hot chai, and get cosy at HeartBeats June. 🧦🔥
How's life been lately for you? Heavy, joyful, lonely, creative, connected? Whatever flavour of life you're currently feeling, come along to share your musings on the HeartBeats stage in front of one of the most supportive audiences around. You don't need to be anything or anyone other than yourself. And if performing isn't your thing, just come along for a chai and good vibes.
This June, we're doing something a little different. As many of you may know, HeartBeats is not just a platform for us to get together to express and connect, it's also an opportunity for us to support the wider community in a number of generative ways. That said, we are pleased to be collaborating with A Sound Life to assist in their Melbourne launch. A Sound Life is an Australian not-for-profit dedicated to improving wellbeing through the transformative power of music, yoga, meditation and mentoring (more on A Sound Life below). They have been active in Sydney since 2014, and are excited to announce that after 12 years of incredible work in Sydney, they are now also launching programs in Melbourne.
This HeartBeats will run much like a regular one, with a slight twist to give 'A Sound Life' a very warm welcome to town - Melbourne hospitality style.
So, put June 28th in your calendar, start practicing, and grab your friends (or get ready to make new ones!). We'll see you there!

What is HeartBeats?
At its core, HeartBeats (est. April 2024) is an open mic - but it's really so much more. It's a community gathering to feel welcomed and supported, to share what's on your heart with a present and connected audience.
Music, poetry, comedy, or whatever moves you - this is a night for open expression.
If you'd like to perform: Arrive at 3pm to put your name in the hat, and we will announce open mic performers at about 3:20pm. We announce names at the start so you're not on edge all afternoon wondering if you'll be picked.
Due to all you talented humans, we won’t be able to fit everyone in. We're sorry in advance if you miss out on your moment - but that's just more reason to keep coming back. There is also never any pressure for you to perform or share - you're always welcome to just kick back on a cushion and enjoy the event.
* Please note that this is a drug and alcohol free event.
