In “Heart of Fire” the orchestra welcomes back international piano soloist Daniel de Borah to perform the fiendishly difficult and exciting Piano Concerto no.2 by Prokofiev. Daniel has given recitals on four continents and toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Australia. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the English Chamber Orchestra London Mozart Players Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney Melbourne Queensland Adelaide and Auckland Symphony Orchestras.

The concert will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s magnificent Symphony no.5. Written from a position of self-doubt as Tchaikovsky questioned his abilities the Symphony has an impending sense of approaching fate. Despite this there are glimmers of sunshine and rhythmic vivacity throughout the work which suggest that not all is doom and gloom. Conductor Laureate Paul Dean will explore these works with the orchestra as we conclude our 2022 Season. The concert will take place at 3pm in Brisbane's magnificent City Hall.*

*City Hall Auditorium is an ACCESSIBLE venue - including BALCONY seats.
