Heart & Soul and Urban Jumble: February First Friday Art Walk

Experience a show that is the first of its kind in Denver! Heart and Soul is an exhibition featuring works created through the Artistic Realization Technologies (A.R.T.) program. Founded over 25 years ago by visual artist Tim Lefens, A.R.T. empowers artists who have limited or no use of their hands to fully direct the art-making process from start to finish. Access Gallery artists accomplished this in a number of ways. Some used a laser pointer and non-verbal cues. Others voiced their ideas and incorporated resource images found from the internet. One artist physically painted onto the canvas. All of this was accomplished through the aid of a "tracker", a person who is assigned to be a conduit for the artist to transfer their creative thoughts to the canvas. Facilitated painting using A.R.T. empowers artists to transcend physical limitations and share their creativity.

As an additional treat, Access Gallery is excited to present Urban Jumble new works by AJ Kiel. Through his thematic compositions AJ invites the audience into the world that lives in his mind. AJ’s whimsical compositions incorporate people, places and things that are tangled together to weave stories of everyday life.
