present their unique take on Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
About this Event
Award-winning physical theatre artist and master storyteller Trevor Copp and internationally acclaimed pianist Alexander Tselyakov have developed a hybrid live concert/science experiment that asks how classical music is best experienced. Audiences are guided through the composition ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ by Modest Mussorgsky, with each movement used as an experiment to explore the sound through the senses, the imagination, and story. We conclude with a vote in which the audience decides whether the experiment was a success.
Hearing 'Pictures at an Exhibition' was created by Trevor Copp and Mimi Han with the music of Modest Mussorgsky for Hamilton Culture Days and premiered with pianist Alexander Tselyakov at the Festival of the Sound in Parry Sound.
